Hello everyone, enjoying my pride & joy for a month now and it was awesome! Not too big & not too small, just right for us family of four. I am very pleased with it and never regret with my decision as I had hard time choosing between 2.4 antara (too big, outdated) & the new 1.2t qashqai (very common everywhere) until we came across the 1.4t mokka (rare & superb) for 3 months way back on march (ordered on june) It is a gamble decision as I never test drive it since there is no available petrol engine at my local dealership so me & my wife just look around at the showroom and was awestrucked with the mokka & signed the papers. Feedbacks from reevoo & this forum (thank you guys) helped us finalized our decision... And our mokka had surpassed all my expectations! Everything was perfect: Nice comfy ride, smooth responsive steering wheel, high riding position, start/stop worked well, navi 950 was great and most of all, lifetime warranty. My only small criticism is the engine noise inside the cabin as if sounds like a diesel..˜› though quiet from the outside. I get used to drive quiet petrol cars before that sometimes I never notice the engine is running but never a turbo charged engine.. So I was just thinking maybe because its a turbo engine that makes the noise (am I right?) Well that's a very minor issue for me but over all, im very happy with our choice. ˜Š

Hi Brian29 good choice I have had the Astra 1.4t and sometimes that engine was noisy compared to our 1.4 naturally aspirated Corsa, but yo will find it gets quieter with age especially when poodling around it does sound nice when you are on the motorway and boot it you know then you have a turbo and then slow down to a nice cruising speed it is quiet and unassuming. Welcome to the site enjoy your new Mokka I think it will go on surprising you as a very versatile comfortable motor.

It's nice to read your positive comments and how pleased you are with the 1.4t. I can confirm whatBassahas already stated, that with age and mileage it does become quieter. Personally, I have always found 'Red' to be very quiet at every stage of his young life. Happy motoring, and much enjoyment.

Hi Brian29,

Like you I found that the 1.4T is noisy and rough at tickover - I thought it sounded like a diesel at first (having had petrol engines which were so quiet and smooth that I used to try to restart a running engine at times).

When I first got mine I was parked in a car park with the engine ticking over playing with the infotainment setting and noticed just how noisy and rough it was, so much so that I got out and checked the badge to see that I had got the1.4T 4x4 that I ordered. Just after I got back in the car, a diesel car parked up two places away - I had to laugh - The 1.4T definitely does not sound like a diesel.

It may be rough and noisy for a petrol engine (the turbo I reckon) but it doesn't make anywhere near the racket of a diesel. You'll get used to it.

As to performance, keep it above 2,000 and it is healthy but if you spin it up from 3,500 it flies - third gear is lovely for passing those special people who drive at 45mph in a 60 limit.
